Hotspot Wine Chironomid

I was visiting with a friend tonight and he was describing a hot Chironomid pattern that he has been using to crush at the lakes. I probably shouldn’t share but I changed a few things to protect the innocent. It is a very simple fly to tie if you have the right materials which I really don’t but I am not sure the trout will really be able to tell the difference. It uses one of those hot spots that are all the rage these days. Next time you go bobber fishing try this one. I plan to fish it on Sunday and see how it does.
